                CHINESE INVENTIONS AND DISCOVERIES

China should also be credited with inventions and discoveries which continue to influence our world today as they did at their inception .The Chinese was source of significant inventions including the FOUR Great Inventions : paper making , compass, gunpowder and printing . The Chinese civilization has given birth to developments i navigation , spiritual balance, mathematics and natural prevention and diagnosis .

                                              * Paper making

-- a substance which is use today for writing. It is known to ave been traced back to China about 105 CE .Cai Lun , he created a sheet of paper using mulberry and other bast fibres along with fishnets ,old rags and hemp waste .

 * COMPASS

-- also known as SI NAN . Early version of today's compass came in the form of a two part instrument.First the metal spoon made of magnetic loadstone , second the bronze plate , in Chinese characters, the eight main directions ( north south ,east, west , etc.. ) . my 1st Blog entry ( 2nd Quarter xD )

1.)  My perspective of the Five Pillars (shahada, salat ,zakat ,saum , and hajj ) of Islam.

For me , it's like Christian because we pray more than five times , we know that we have only one God,we help helpless people like Muslim do. I think it's good to do their Five Pillars. In shahada it's good to hear that they no more god except to Allah. They have faith. The shahada also is uttered as part of the Muslim call to prayer. In salat they pray five times a day in Mecca. They are so religious. In zakat, like us we have charity. In hajj , it is pilgrimage . Muslim make their journey to Mecca .All illness people licit excuses. In saum or fasting . It have three fasting the partial fasting , water fasting , and full fasting . In full fasting all toxin in your body will decrease . They have Ramadan. By the way ..We should respect the five pillars of the Muslim .

2 ). How does the teachings of Buddha affect the followers of this philosophy ?

I think , They affect their philosophy in life because they think that Buddha was enlighten one so they followed the Four noble truth ,eight fold path and the Five pillars . The followers believe that teachings of Buddha ,like karma , karma of varying types  can lead to rebirth as a human, an animal or even one of the Hindu gods. The belief of the followers are change when Buddha teach them.

3) Hinduism VS. Christianity :

Hinduism is  " the whole complex of beliefs and institutions that have appeared from the time when their ancient scriptures ,Vedas , were composed until now .Hinduism is a search for liberation. It is devotion to or worship of the gods .Hindu themselves prefer to use the Sanskrit term sanatana dharma for their religious tradition.Christianity is a monotheistic faith . They believe in one God . They have a bible .Founded on the life and teachings of Jesus.

My 4th blog entry!!

There are broad trends in our time that are the direct result of past history.Among the many examples of such history that could be noted is the " OPIUM WAR " fought in china more than a century ago.How are events connected with our time?

In the same society which is maintained partly by waging war. I mean to say that everything seems to be connected directly or indirectly through other causes. The smallest event or action seems to have an effect on the collective whole. So our society, our modes of life, work, relationships, everything, is an outcome of even the smallest parts in our society, as well as the bigger parts. War is a manifestation of ourselves, our lives and is a basic element to how our society is structured. The culture that Chinese brought us is part of our daily living.

King and I --1st project :D

We watched King and I.It was so exciting at first because King mungkot has many concubine and royal children. so let's start the King and I .

Mrs. Anna Leonowens and her son Louis arrive in Bangkok, where she has contracted to teach English to the children of the royal household. She threatens to leave when the house she had been promised is not available, but falls in love with the children. A new slave, a gift of a vassal king, translates "Uncle Tom's Cabin" into a Siamese ballet, expressing her unhappiness at being with the King. She attempts to escape with her lover. Anna and the King fall in love, but her British upbringing inhibits her from joining his harem. She is just about to leave Siam when she hears of the King's imminent death, and returns to help his son, her favorite pupil, rule his people. After the death of her husband, Anna Owens moves from England to Siam with her son Louis to become a teacher for the children of the king of Siam. She finds Siamese customs to be quite different from English ones, which brings her often in conflict with the king. However, after some time they find themselves getting along much better.

Characters and role they portrayed :
-- Jodie Foster as Anna Leonowens, the english teacher.
--Yun-fat Chow as King Mongkut, the king of Siam.
--Bai Ling as Tuptim, the favorite concubine of king Mongkut.
-- Tom Felton as Louis Leonowens, the only son of Anna.
-- Syed Alwi as the Kralahome and the prime minister.
-- Randall Duk Him as General Alak, one of the foe of Siam country.
-- Keith Chin as Prince Chulalongkorn.
-- Mellisa Campbell as Princess Fa-ying, a royal child who died because of Cholera
-- Kay Siu Lim as Prince Chaofa, king Mongkut's brother that was killed by Alak.
-- Mano Maniam as Moonsohee, Leonowens' indian servant.
--Shanthini Venugupal as Beebe, Leonowens' indian servant.
-- Deanna Yusoff as queen Thiang, the head wife of king Mongkuk.
-- Geoffrey Palmer as the lord John Bradley.
--Anne Firbank as Lady Bradley.
--Alif Silpachai as Chulalongkorn's brother.
--Bill Stewart as Mycroft Kincaid.
-- Sean Ghazi as Khun Phra Balat.
-- Hamli Hassan as King Chulalongkorn.

Historical significance of the film :
It doesn't matter if our traditions are different the important is we understand each other.Even the King has many concubine he did not desolate his children and his concubine. He has a generous heart even
he maltreatment his slaves.Love a person even he/she did a bad things.

Social Relevance of the film to our society :
We respect the higher position in our community like the Siam people do.We have a Datu like in the Siam the Kings was the ruler.Like in the Philippines the men has a chance to have many concubine..
..so that's all ...
